The first three days after hair transplantation:

  • The patient should avoid activities that cause fatigue, stress, or excessive sweating. Excessive sweating may damage the hair follicles.
  • To avoid damaging the hair transplant area, it is recommended to wear buttoned, loose, and comfortable clothes.
  • You should use the medications and solutions prescribed by the doctor as directed, and at the specified dosage. Do not consume alcohol during the medication process.
  • After the hair transplant procedure, some swelling may occur for a certain period. This is not a cause for concern, as the swelling will subside within a few days. Keeping the head elevated during this time will help reduce the swelling.
  • To promote faster healing of the wounds, drink plenty of water and prefer fiber-rich foods.

The fourth day after the hair transplant:

  • Moisture in the hair follicles and light bleeding, which are possible situations after the transplant, will be replaced by scabbing. The scabs should never be removed.
  • If possible, the first wash should be done at the transplant center. If this is not possible, the shampoo recommended by the doctor should be used.
  • After the first wash, the hair should be washed once a day for 15 days.
  • The head should be protected from possible impacts. On sunny days, it is recommended to wear a dark-colored hat when going outside. Continue using the care products recommended by the doctor.

Fifteenth day after the hair transplant:

  • The healing process is complete.
  • Small redness and pimples may appear on the scalp. If personal hygiene is maintained, these issues will gradually disappear over time.

One month after the hair transplant:

Typically, a condition called “shock loss” occurs one month after the hair transplant, where a significant portion of the hair falls out.

Why does shock loss occur?

  • In the growth cycle where the hair starts to grow, hair follicles that were transplanted during the procedure still have hair strands on them. After the grafts placed in the hair loss area adapt to their new spots, the hair strands on them will fall out as they prepare for the production of new, healthy hair. As the channels where the roots were placed gradually close, the hair strands break and fall out from their positions on the skin. The extent of hair loss varies from person to person. This is not a process exclusive to hair transplantation. Shock loss can also occur in eyebrow, mustache, and beard transplants.
  • Serums and medications that strengthen the hair can be used under the supervision of a doctor.
  • The normal washing routine for the hair can be resumed.

Post-Operation Patient Follow-up

Patient consultations and post-op follow-ups are conducted for a period of 1 year after the procedure.
